Economics (BA)


Our Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics program provides rigorous training in economics to provide both a theoretical and empirical way to understand, interpret and explore the issues and challenges in society. Our Economics program is excellent preparation for graduate work in economics, as well as business, law, public administration and other professional disciplines.

Laurier’s Economics department is uniquely positioned within our Lazaridis School of Business and Economics to provide you with the option to complete your degree in Economics and Accounting, Economics and Financial Management or Applied Economics.

Program Highlights

  • As an economics student, you can take part in our business degree co-op program – the largest in the country – where you can explore different career options and develop skills for your future during three work terms.
  • Honours Economics and Accounting graduates can earn a graduate diploma in accounting and fast-track to the CPA designation with Laurier’s nationally accredited program.
