Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Cultural Studies (BA in combination)

 waterloo

Cultural Studies takes a close look at popular and everyday culture. Our courses will introduce you to new ways of “reading” the culture all around you, allowing you to explore topics like popular music, visual culture, the culture of work and play, youth subculture, and popular culture’s role in social change. Our program fosters cultural literacy, helping you develop critical insights into the world and build the skills necessary to communicate these insights.

Cultural Studies at Laurier has a strong tradition of interdisciplinary teaching and research. Our classes are exciting and innovative, and you may find yourself tackling unique assignments while drawing critical conclusions about the things you experience and encounter every day.
