Visual Arts Workshops

The Laurier Academy of Music and Arts is excited to offer visual arts workshops for families, kids, and adults. Come and create at LAMA! All visual arts workshops will be led by Selda Sezen, Art Director. 

Note: Family workshop participants can be any number of members from your family (all ages), or individuals aged 12+. Adult workshops are 18+. Kids workshops are aged 8-13. Please register each participant that will be creating the project.

Air-Dry Clay: Create, Decorate & Make It Yours

5-Session Creative Clay Program

Create something uniquely yours in this relaxing, beginner-friendly air-dry clay program.

Across five 2-hour sessions, participants will create 6+ handmade pieces while exploring shaping, texturing, joining, painting, decoupage, varnish, epoxy, and finishing techniques. Projects may include bowls, plates, coaster sets, ornaments, seasonal décor, nature-inspired pieces, gifts, napkin holders, and many other original designs.

No previous clay experience is required. Beginners and experienced makers are welcome.

Program Details:

  • Saturdays: October 3, 17, 31; November 14 & 28, 2026
  • 5 sessions × 2 hours 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Program Fee: $199
  • 10 hours of creative time
  • 6+ handmade projects
  • Class size: 4–8 participants
  • End-of-Term Exhibition: December 2026, date TBD
  • Optional food-safe epoxy finish may be available for suitable pieces

October: Air-Dry Clay Seasonal Creations Workshop

Join us for a fun, relaxing two-session air-dry clay workshop. Create and decorate 3 seasonal clay pieces to keep or gift.

Workshop Details:

  • Saturdays, October 17 & 24, 2026
  • 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • $45 per participant
  • Ages: Kids, teens & adults
  • Beginners welcome
  • All materials included

Session 1: Create your clay pieces.
Session 2: Paint, varnish, and finish your designs.

A food-safe epoxy/varnish option will be available for suitable pieces.

November: Ceramic Mug Painting Workshop

Sip a Little Creativity!

Design and paint your own ceramic mug with beautiful winter-inspired snowflakes. Create a one-of-a-kind mug to enjoy yourself or give as a handmade gift.

Open to kids, teens, adults, and families. Beginner-friendly and no previous experience is required. Perfect for gifts, keepsakes, or simply enjoying a relaxing creative experience.

December: Seasonal Mosaic Art Workshop

Create. Celebrate. Gift the Experience.

Celebrate the season through creativity with a special Seasonal Mosaic Art Workshop at the Laurier Academy of Music & Arts.

All materials are included, and no previous mosaic experience is required. Choose your colours and patterns, learn simple mosaic-making techniques, and take home a unique handmade piece created by you.
