Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

English (BA)

waterloo | Also available in brantford

The English program at Laurier allows you to develop your critical reading, analytical and writing skills in preparation for a globally connected world that will put demands on your ability to communicate effectively. Our innovative classroom experiences, with an emphasis on active learning, will allow you to engage a variety of literary texts from a range of historical periods and the breadth of English-speaking cultures.

Our program includes British, American, Canadian, Indigenous and other literatures from the Medieval to the contemporary periods. Our students can connect with visiting writers-in-residence and award-winning instructors, writers and poets.

You can also apply for a BA+MA in English to receive two conditional offers of admission: one to undergraduate studies (BA) in English, and one to graduate studies (MA) in English.
