Wilfrid Laurier University’s Faculty of Music is thrilled to announce the return of Voice Lab for Spring 2026: The Art of Crossing Over!

This intensive five-day workshop is designed for voice students and singers in the wider community who want to deepen their vocal technique and artistic versatility beyond the regular academic year. Open to singers with a basic foundation in vocal study, whether through formal lessons or self-guided experience, Voice Lab supports a wide range of developmental levels.

Voice Lab 2026 brings together classical and music theatre singers, encouraging exploration across genres and focused cross-training. The concentrated nature of the week allows for meaningful, often accelerated progress through individualized instruction, collaborative coaching, and group learning.

What's included?

Participants will engage in daily yoga sessions, multiple one-on-one voice lessons, coaching sessions with collaborative pianists, masterclasses, and workshops including Linklater work, Body Mapping, crossover technique, improvisation, and character building. The week also includes community-building events such as a faculty-student BBQ and concludes with a final concert featuring all participants.
