You must have completed or are completing an undergraduate degree to apply. Mature students must meet the same requirements as all other candidates.

Admission Average

  • You need a minimum academic average of 70% (B-) on your most recently completed 10.0 full-credit or 20 half-credit undergraduate university courses.
  • Your admission average is calculated using undergraduate courses that are completed by September 1 of the year preceding your anticipated enrolment.
  • If you are applying for spring 2027 and you are taking courses in the fall term (September to December), we consider those courses only to ensure that you meet the subject requirements for your teaching subject; we will not include them in your overall admission average or your teaching subject average. Any courses that you take during the winter 2027 term (January to April) will not be considered towards your teaching subject requirements
    • If you plan to apply for spring 2028 or later, all courses for your teaching subject (including for the Primary/Junior French as a Second Language Focus) must be complete by September 1 of the year preceding your anticipated enrolment. Courses completed in the fall and winter terms of the year you apply will not be included in your overall admission average, teaching subject average or to confirm you have met the subject requirements for your teaching subject.

Program-Specific Requirements

In addition to your admission average, you must complete program-specific requirements.
