Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

You’ve accepted your offer. You’ve applied for residence. You’re about to embark on a life-defining journey – no pressure, right? No matter which university you attend, there are some big differences between high school and postsecondary learning, so why not sign up for one of our preparatory programs and get a head start?

Headstart

Headstart is a program offered on both of our campuses and is designed to make the transition to university life easier for you and your parents or guardians. Students attending the Waterloo campus can attend Headstart on select days in June and July. Headstart on the Brantford campus is offered throughout the months of June to August.

Headstart is an opportunity for you to:

  • Learn the differences between high school and university.
  • Learn about campus services and resources that can help make your university experience a success.
  • Learn about residence life, meal plans, orientation week, financial aid and more.
