Wilfrid Laurier University has an inventor-own policy, meaning that, in general, a faculty member or a student who creates an intellectual property owns it, unless there is an agreement to the contrary.
The details are governed by university policies for faculty intellectual property (see Article 36 in the WLUFA Collective Agreement) and student intellectual property (see University Policy 11.3, Ownership of Student-Created Intellectual Property). Please consult the university policies and contact the Office of Research to discuss details.
All research conducted at or by Wilfrid Laurier University or its personnel must conform to institutional policies. Please consult the Office of Research if you have any questions about the policies listed.
See University-Level Policies for the following policies relevant to research and researchers.
