All students have the opportunity to perform in a variety of settings throughout our community.
We hope you'll join us on stage soon!
Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Beginning as the Beckett School in 1980, the school was founded by Garth and Marjorie Beckett when both were on the piano faculty at Wilfrid Laurier University. The original vision was to create a space where students in all the arts – music, visual arts, drama – could flourish.
It became the Beckett School at Laurier in June 2015, then the Laurier Academy of of Music and Arts in May 2023. The Beckett’s vision continues to foster excellence and a love for the arts in students of all ages.
We are located at 190 Lester Street, Waterloo on the Wilfrid Laurier University campus. Our facility offers inspiring instructional space, a beautiful early childhood music area and a recital room for our frequent performances. A secondary location is located near Pioneer Park at 68 Biehn Drive, Kitchener.
