About the Production

Blood Brothers is a rags-to-riches story that brings a haunting tragedy to life through music. Its emotional journey takes audiences through contrasting experiences, unexpected twists and turns, guided by the narration of the "fates" of life. This production was the perfect choice to highlight the impressive skills of this particular group of performers.

About Stagecraft: Music Theatre Ensemble

Stagecraft Ensemble provides students with an opportunity to explore music theatre as actors and singers in an ensemble setting. Storytelling is front and centre, and the emotional experience is just as powerful for those on stage as it is for those in the audience.

In this space, students explore the craft of theatre from the inside out, working with their bodies and voices to discover what lies beneath the technique and process of their practical studies.

The first term of Stagecraft challenges students to explore a full production, both creatively and technically, from script to stage.

The ensemble began rehearsals with a focus on acting, reacting and physicalizing text through imagery. They concluded September with a specialized training workshop led by Stratford Festival movement coach Brad Cook.

Students received their scripts and scores at the end of September and brought this story to life in just a few short weeks through collaboration, focus and determination.

I am so proud of each of these students.
