Wilfrid Laurier University to welcome 2026 Ontario Summer Games to Waterloo campus July 30 to Aug. 2

Wilfrid Laurier University will welcome athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators to its Waterloo campus from July 30 to Aug. 2 as part of the Waterloo Region 2026 Ontario Summer Games.

More than 4,200 youth athletes aged 12 to 18 from across Ontario will compete in 23 sports at venues throughout Waterloo Region. Laurier will host wushu, field lacrosse and flag football events, and student residences will serve as the Athletes’ Village.

“Laurier looks forward to celebrating the next generation of Ontario’s athletes and welcoming guests to our campus spaces in the spirit of community connection and youth development,” says Laurier President and Vice-Chancellor Deborah MacLatchy.

Laurier employees, students, alumni and community members are invited to attend and cheer on competitors. Admission to all competitions is free. The full Waterloo Region 2026 Ontario Summer Games schedule is available online.

The Waterloo Region 2026 Ontario Summer Games are supported by the Ontario government through its Games Ontario program, which delivers and supports multi-sport events across the province. These include the Ontario Winter Games and Ontario Summer Games for youth, the Ontario 55+ Winter Games and Ontario 55+ Summer Games, and the Ontario Parasport Games.
