Laurier supports Canadian Blood Services through summer blood drive

Wilfrid Laurier University will host a summer blood drive to support the ongoing need for blood donations in communities across Canada. Laurier has pledged 475 blood donations in 2026 as part of its commitment to Canadian Blood Services.

“Laurier donors continually show up for Canadians who rely on blood and blood products,” says Katie Bea, business development manager with Canadian Blood Services. “Thank you for all you do to keep Canada’s Lifeline strong.”

Wilfrid Laurier University is grateful to faculty, staff, student and alumni blood donors for generously supporting Canadian Blood Services as part of Laurier’s Partners for Life team. Since 2010, Laurier’s Partners for Life team has contributed more than 5,000 blood donations to Canada’s Lifeline.

Eligible members of the university community are invited to join Laurier’s Partners for Life team and make a blood donation. By joining Laurier’s Partners for Life team, you can give at any Canadian Blood Services clinic or mobile location and have your donation count toward Laurier’s pledge goal.

In Waterloo

The clinic is located at 94 Bridgeport Rd. E. and open during the following times:

• Monday and Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m.
• Tuesday from 1 to 7 p.m.
• Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In Brantford

Canadian Blood Services will hold a mobile clinic on July 25 at Branlyn Community Centre, 238 Brantwood Park Rd., and on Aug. 18 at Hope Christian Reformed Church, 64 Buchanan Cr.

In Milton

Canadian Blood Services will hold a mobile clinic on July 4, Aug. 3 and Aug. 15 at Milton Bible Church, 121 Chisholm Dr.

Other Ways to Support Canadian Blood Services

Not everyone can give blood. There are other ways to support Laurier’s partnership with Canadian Blood Services:

• Join the stem cell registry if you are between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Volunteer at your local Canadian Blood Services clinic location.
