Filming notice: Brantford filming project to involve street closures

The City of Brantford and Wilfrid Laurier University will host a film production in and around Laurier’s Post House residence (41 George St., Brantford) from June 10 to 12.

During filming, there will also be increased activity in the Student Centre and One Market, which will serve as holding areas for cast and crew.

Filming activity will impact access to some streets, Laurier parking lots and municipal parking spaces.

Closures on June 10, beginning at 5 p.m.:

  • No parking in Laurier Gold Permit parking spaces between the Student Centre and Post House
  • No street parking on George Street (both sides) between Dalhousie and Darling streets
  • Tentative: No street parking on Darling Street (south side) between Market and Charlotte streets

Closures on June 11, all day:

  • Laurier Gold Permit/carpool parking lot bordered by the Student Centre, Indigenous Student Centre, Research and Academic Centre and Post House closed
  • George Street closed between Dalhousie and Nelson streets
  • Darling Street closed between Market and Charlotte streets
  • Intermittent traffic closure at Dalhousie Street, 50 metres east of George Street
  • Lane reduction at Dalhousie and George streets

Closures on June 12, until 5 p.m.:

  • No parking in Laurier Gold Permit parking spaces between the Student Centre and Post House
  • No street parking on George Street (both sides) between Dalhousie and Darling streets
  • Tentative: No street parking on Darling Street (south side) between Market and Charlotte streets

Members of the Laurier community are encouraged to keep these disruptions in mind when planning travel to and from campus.

Those affected by the Gold Permit parking lot closure on June 11 may find Gold Permit parking at the Charlotte Street lot (18 Charlotte St.) and behind the Carnegie Building (37 George St.), accessible via Wellington Street.
