Amar Badwal, an incoming second-year Bachelor of Business Administration student, is a member of the winning team in the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics’ 2026 BDO Future Leaders Challenge, which tasks students with tackling real-world issues facing mid-sized businesses while exploring solutions rooted in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
“Winning this challenge along with my team wasn’t just an amazing moment in my first year at Laurier,” says Badwal. “It is going to change the course of my life.”
Donor support helps students like Badwal take part in life-changing experiential learning that has a lasting impact on their careers. It helps them access vital financial support so they can give more time to experiential learning activities, as well as their studies and athletics. Donors also help fund the buildings in which generations of Laurier students learn to lead and make connections that last a lifetime.
“When you give to students at Laurier, you’re giving us an amazing postsecondary experience,” says Badwal. “You’re also investing in our future. Your impact won’t stop at my graduation. It will increase over the course of my life and career, and those of my fellow Laurier students, as it touches every community and industry we serve and lead.”
Laurier’s 2025-26 Donor Impact Report shares stories from across Laurier’s faculties, campuses and communities that highlight the many ways donors are making a difference now and into the future.
“We thank our donors today for their giving and we keep thanking them year after year,” says Jason Coolman, Laurier’s vice-president: advancement and external relations. “That’s because their impact keeps going, sometimes far beyond where any of us can imagine today. When you invest in the potential of a student, your impact never stops.”
