All of Laurier’s campuses and locations are closed today due to inclement weather. All in-person academic classes are cancelled or moved online at the discretion of the instructor.
During the closure, buildings on all campuses will be controlled access, which means a OneCard is required to access buildings.
When campus reopens, a notification will be posted. Check for status updates on the Campus Status Page.
Closing the university means that:
- All in-person classes are cancelled. Instructors of cancelled in-person classes can choose to hold a virtual class at the regularly scheduled time with notice to their students, reschedule their class, provide virtual asynchronous learning material, and/or revise their course plans.
- Virtual synchronous classes continue as scheduled.
- All in-person assessments (tests, quizzes, midterms, final exams) are cancelled on the closed campuses.
- All virtual assessments (tests, quizzes, midterms, final exams) continue as scheduled, regardless of the course mode of delivery (in-person or virtual).
- In-person quizzes, tests, and midterms will be rescheduled by the course instructor (or the Department or Faculty for centrally scheduled midterms).
- Due dates for assignments to be submitted virtually remain unchanged regardless of the course mode of delivery (in-person or virtual).
- In-person submissions will be due at the next regularly scheduled class or as directed by the instructor.
- In-person meetings and other in-person scheduled events on campus are cancelled. Organizers of non-academic online meetings and events will determine and communicate if non-academic online meetings and events scheduled for (date campus closed) will continue in the usual manner.
- Staff, other than those needed for essential services, are expected to perform their work remotely if operationally feasible and in consultation with their supervisor.
- Staff performing essential services are expected to be on site.
- Staff and students who require flexibility or accommodations because of the impacts of inclement weather closures today for schools and other services should connect directly with their managers or instructors to discuss.
