Study Youth and Children's Studies at Laurier
The Youth and Children’s Studies program explores the question "What does it mean to be a child in the contemporary world?" and uses it as the basis for exploration into the cultures of childhood and adolescence. If you are wondering how you can engage with children and youth to make a positive change, Youth and Children's Studies will give you information, research strategies and analytical skills to succeed.
You’ll graduate with a range of skills that will help you approach contemporary social, cultural, educational, legal and health issues that face children and those who work with them.

After completing your undergraduate degree, you can consider applying to a Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Laurier 101 is a program designed to make the transition to university life easier for our incoming students.
Academic Advising
Academic advisors are support staff at the university who can help ensure you meet the requirements to obtain your degree. They are great resources for discussing your academic and career goals. You should meet with an academic advisor at least once a year while a student.
Our advisors will help you select appropriate courses for you to take based on your past academic achievement and your current interests. They will also help you create a personalized plan for success and connect you with any relevant support services such as Student Success services, accessible learning services and more.
