Study Details on MetricWire

Notifications

The MetricWire app will send you notifications whenever you leave a building containing a service provider of interest (e.g. campus pharmacy). You may receive notifications, but the details of the study and survey will be kept private until you open the MetricWire app.

We have "geofenced" or built virtual boundaries around a number of service providers on campus and around the city that can be detected by your phone. When you spend some time in a geofenced location, suggesting that you have interacted with service providers at that location, the phone will alert the MetricWire app and will send an alert to complete the survey.

If you are just passing by or through a location, the app should not send an alert or attempt to survey you. If you receive an alert and you have not received a service at that location, skip the survey and do not complete the questions.

Study Questions

You will answer a set of questions about your experience within the app (that will take 30 seconds to two minutes to complete). The questions you will answer in the app will ask you to identify your service provider, and provide your perceptions of the services you received.

The questions will be available for you to answer up to 48 hours from the point you exit the building and may be completed either using your smartphone (preferred) or tablet. If you do not answer the questions within a certain amount of time, you will receive a reminder alert.

There will always be an option to skip a question. Make sure you click "Submit Answers" at the end of each survey to make sure your answers are received.

Leaving the Study

You may leave the study at any time. To leave the study, click the "Leave Study" button in the right-hand corner next to the "View Consent Form" button.
