Laurier Choirs is pleased to welcome conductor, composer and educator Dr. Alec Schumacker for a week of choral rehearsals, workshops and classroom sessions.
Throughout his residency, Dr. Schumacker will work with Laurier students and visiting high school choirs to explore choral singing, composition, rehearsal techniques and music-making in communities.
Dr. Alec Schumacker is Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. An award-winning composer and arranger, he brings an energetic and encouraging approach to working with singers, with a focus on musicianship, vocal health and confidence.
