World-class performers, curated by the internationally acclaimed Penderecki String Quartet, bring powerful performances to campus that honour Laurier’s musical legacy and connect it with the broader musical world.

JUNO Award-winning jazz vocalist Caity Gyorgy brings her signature bebop and swing to Laurier, joined by pianist Mark Limacher and bassist Joe Phillips. Laurier’s own Quartet in Residence, the Penderecki String Quartet, completes this remarkable lineup.

Gryphon Piano Trio with Nordic Voices

Three-time JUNO Award winners Gryphon Piano Trio collaborate with the phenomenal Norwegian vocal sextet Nordic Voices in a program featuring Dvořák, global folk traditions, and works by Norbert Palej and Bohdana Frolyak.

Penderecki String Quartet & Pentaèdre Quintet

Sunday, March 15, 3 p.m. | Maureen Forrester Recital Hall

Laurier’s Quartet-in-Residence, the Penderecki String Quartet, joins forces with Montreal’s acclaimed Pentaèdre Quintet for a rare chamber performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, arranged by Klaus Simon, featuring soprano Leslie Fagan. The program also includes a World Premiere by Laurier alumnus Jeffery Ryan, commissioned in honour of our 50th anniversary.
