In memory of Terry Kroetsch, former faculty member of the Faculty of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University and highly regarded RCM examiner and piano pedagogue, the Laurier Academy of Music and Arts is pleased to announce the inaugural Terry Kroetsch Piano Pedagogy Symposium in October 2025 at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.
This special event celebrates the life and legacy of Terry Kroetsch—a generous, creative spirit who championed Canadian repertoire and was deeply devoted to mentoring emerging pedagogues. Terry found joy in sharing music, ideas, conversation, puns, and good food with his friends and colleagues.
Following his passing in 2024, a fund was established in his name through the generosity of his family, friends, and former students. Continue to read about Terry.
The Pedagogy Collective now carries forward his vision:
Come learn, share, and be inspired as we build community and celebrate piano pedagogy together.
