This ensemble will introduce participants to the art of improvisation using the Blues and Jazz as the framework to explore improvisation techniques. The knowledge gained is applicable to any style of music. All instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome! A working knowledge of your instrument is required. The ensemble is led by Dave O'Neill.
Always wanted to try violin but never had the chance? Or do you just want to try something new? Our adult and teenager beginner violin class requires no previous musical experience and provides a low pressure group setting to learn the basics of playing the violin in only a few weeks! You will be introduced to core violin techniques while learning some easy pieces from both classical and fiddling traditions, you'll learn how to read music for the violin, and how to play together with others. There will also be opportunities for one-on-one check-ins with the instructor to check your setup and technique and receive personalized tips.
You will need to bring your own violin and bow or rent one from Long and McQuade. All other materials will be provided.
