Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I hold a Bachelor of Music (BMus) and Bachelor of Education (BEd) from Western University. I also hold a Master of Music (MMus) from Michigan State University.
I am active as a private teacher on saxophone and clarinet. Having taught high school music for 25 years, I have a vast experience working with beginners and watching them develop. I also teach clarinet and saxophone at the University of Guelph in the Fine Arts program.
Performing is also very important to my career. I’m currently principal clarinet with the Guelph Symphony Orchestra, concertmaster of the Wellington Wind Symphony and a member of the Royal City Saxophone Quartet.
I also really enjoy teaching recorder in the RSVP course at Beckett School at Laurier, where I also demonstrate all the woodwind instruments and let the young students get a taste of each one.
