I am a registered psychotherapist (RP) and certified music therapist (MTA), having received a Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy from the Gestalt Institute of Toronto in 2023, and a Master of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2018. I have clinically supervised and taught students in Laurier’s MMT program since 2022.
I currently work as a music psychotherapist specializing in adult mental health at a group counselling centre in Guelph, Ontario. From 2020-2025 I was a music psychotherapist and professional discipline lead at Homewood Health Centre, a mental health and addictions treatment facility in Guelph, and from 2018-2020 I worked as a contractor in multiple community mental health, long-term care, hospice, and oncology settings in Toronto.
I served as the Equity Chair on the board of directors for the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT) from 2023-2025, and as the Regulation Chair for the Music Therapy Association of Ontario (MTAO) from 2019-2021. I currently volunteer as a member of the Professional Development and Equity Committee for the CAMT.
Current research explores the impacts of a closed cohort music psychotherapy group as a tool for processing trauma in an inpatient setting, and the use of music in postpartum motherhood. Past research has examined issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the music therapy community in Canada, experiencing imposter syndrome as an emerging music therapist, and the impacts of group music therapy for individuals with eating disorders.
I am honoured to share knowledge, resources and experiences while learning alongside Laurier’s MMT students and our future music therapists. I wish to promote curiosity, dialogue, and questioning with students about themselves, our roles, the people and communities we serve, and the systems we work within. I look forward to a new term of collaboration and discovery.
