The Penderecki String Quartet’s annual QuartetFest at Wilfrid Laurier University will feature a 3-day workshop for secondary school students working in pre-formed string quartets. We will also be accepting a limited number of individuals applying with solo, duo, and trio repertoire.
The workshop will focus on masterclasses and coachings by members of the Penderecki String Quartet and the Lafayette String Quartet culminating in a performance on the final Quartetfest Young Artists concert at the on June 11 at 2pm. QuartetFest is a 2-week festival of concerts and study for undergraduate and graduate level students who will be in residence in the Young Artist Program.
The Secondary School Workshop fee is $50 per person/per day. Students may request to participate for 1, 2, or 3 days as available.
All group or individual applicants must submit a 5 minute video representing their current repertoire. There is a field below to submit a link to your recording. There is also a field below to insert your current repertoire list. Interested applicants must send their video along with a repertoire list to Jeremy Bell (jcbell@wlu.ca) no later than May 15, 2023.
Selected participants will be notified by May 18, 2023.
For those needing overnight accommodation: affordable residence accommodations are available on campus - parental supervision is required.
