About the Concert:

The Vox Charted/Uncharted project serves to help students practice collaboration, arrangement, and small ensemble singing skills. It also helps them understand and experience different roles within performance project work. As artists sometimes we also have to do other jobs outside of singing and playing in order to make the projects we produce happen. Each member of each small group was part of a team covering specific aspects of the project: music direction, staging or choreography, technical needs, marketing, or company management/administration. This way all members contribute toward the success of their performance pieces. For these performances, the instructors serve more as mentors guiding the process because the students themselves are directing the songs. Each group was assigned a charted musical theatre ensemble piece with the arrangement and casting already done for them and then chose their own popular music piece to arrange and cast collaboratively.
