ABOUT VOX

Not your traditional choir, Vox focuses on contemporary commercial music in multi-part singing. Combining soaring harmonies, CCM vocal styles, and a dash of choreography, the group performs both popular hits and lesser-known indie gems. Today’s performance is a culmination of charted and uncharted rehearsals where students learn from formal arrangements and also create their own versions of songs.

Convergence

The Convergence ensemble is made up of students from the community music and common year streams of the Faculty of Music, as well as from other non-music faculties. In today’s performance, we invite you to our version of an “un-concert”; where we turn the tables on the roles of audience and performer to create an inclusive space for music-sharing. The devised theatre-style program has been created and directed by the students through a process of conversation, improvisation and collaboration. The media projections have been created through contributions from the students based on the prompt “The Bigger Picture”. We invite you to join us in our living room for a jam session in progress, where you may feel free to allow yourself to sing along and become part of the music with us!
