Print | PDFSoprano, Jamie Groote is praised for her “rich tone and captivating stage presence”. Groote recently completed her final year in the Canadian Opera Company’s Ensemble studio where she is thrilled to have spent the past 3 years. Groote holds a masters degree in opera performance from the University of Toronto as well as an Honours B.Mus. and Opera diploma from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has attended young artist programs such as: OTSL, Against the Grain Theatre’s Opera in the 21st Century, Central City Opera, and HGO’s YAVA. Recent performances include La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi with the Canadian Opera Company as well as a soloist in the COC’s digitally streamed “In Winter” concert. Pre pandemic, Jamie also performed as Second Wood Nymph in Rusalka and Hansel in Hansel and Gretel (OYA production). Upcoming performances include Kate Pinkerton in the Puccini’s Madama Butterfly (COC), Lea in the world premiere of Cusson’s Fantasma (COC) Flora in Verdi’s La Traviata (COC) and First Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (COC).
