Bridget Ramzy is an opera director and musicologist focused on creating opera that is artist-led and score-driven. She recently collaborated with Amplified Opera on Spotlight: Out on a Limb, a concert exploring disability in classical music. Other engagements include a production of Eugene Onegin with Opéra Queens that explored the piece through drag and a mentorship with Aria Umezawa and Andrea Donaldson at the COC. She was previously involved with Opera Laurier as an assistant director of The Llandovery Castle, and onstage in Massenet’s Cendrillon. Also an active lecturer, Bridget’s research interests include opera studies, gender and sexuality on stage, and the music of Richard Strauss. Her work on Der Rosenkavalier has been published in Nota Bene, Canada's undergraduate journal of musicology.
