Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

The Faculty of Education offers Additional Qualification (AQ) courses to certified teachers who wish to broaden their knowledge, develop specialized skills to assist them in their careers and network with other teachers. Our dedicated instructors bring a wealth of experience to their classes and ensure that materials and assignments are practical and interesting.

All courses are a combination of face-to-face and online formats, but distribution varies from course to course to suit learning styles and schedules. Face-to-face hours provide immediate feedback and answers to questions in a personalized learning environment. Online components allow participants to structure their learning around individual commitments and in a convenient location.

Laurier Bachelor of Education (BEd) graduates and associate teachers receive fee discounts, which they can often combine with subsidies from their employer and professional associations.
