Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

About Humanities with Leadership Foundations at Laurier

In our Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Humanities with Leadership Foundations program, you'll immerse yourself in the problems that leaders and organizations face today. You'll learn how to create long-lasting solutions that consider larger historical and cultural contexts. By studying ethics, history, literature, and other arts and science disciplines, you'll broaden your understanding of contemporary issues.

Courses in leadership will help you understand leadership theory and prepare you for what is needed to inspire, motivate and bring about meaningful change.

You'll begin your studies with a multidisciplinary seminar, exploring a contemporary problem from multiple angles.

All students in the program must complete successfully the Foundations curriculum.

At the end of your studies, you'll take a capstone, problem-based seminar that will allow you to integrate your education and help you become an exceptional leader who has the knowledge and skills to make a difference.

Earn a Law Degree, Too

You can combine this program with a law degree (LLB) from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. Our Bachelor of Laws (University of Sussex, UK) and Bachelor of Arts (Laurier) program can be completed in six years.

You'll complete your first two years in the Humanities with Leadership Foundations program at our Brantford campus. Students who meet the GPA and progression requirements may then apply to the UK law program and are guaranteed an offer of admission to the University of Sussex law school; there is no requirement to write the LSAT entrance exam. After three years of studying abroad in the UK and completing an LLB, you'll return for one final year at Laurier to complete your Laurier BA.

Experiential Learning Opportunities

Customize your education by choosing elective courses based on your interests and by participating in experiential learning opportunities, such as undergraduate research, Community Service-Learning and studying abroad.

Interested in Transferring to Laurier?

You can transfer into this program from a two-year college diploma program from specific Ontario colleges. With our college pathways program, you can complete only two years at Laurier and earn your degree.
