PhD in Management, Organizational Behaviour/Human Resources Management
I found my supervisor, Jessie, at Laurier, who has similar research interests as I do. From the first time I met her, I knew that we would get along very well and have a good fit. Supportive faculty members and PhD office staff like Amanda K.
My research questions are to examine factors (e.g., workers’ interpersonal relationships with supervisor and coworkers, employee-customer interactions in customer service settings, prosocial/deviant behaviours) that influence employee well-being and performance.
Employee-customer interactions in customer service settings is one of my earliest research interests and my personal experience working in customer service jobs and engaging in emotional labour inspired/motivated to be interested in this topic. I developed other research interests after taking PhD seminars and reading journal articles.
My career goal is to become a professor at a business school (i.e., conduct research and teach students). I like interacting with students and teach them based on my research interests and other research findings.
