Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

We are now accepting applications for Sept. 2017. If you have any questions about the Lazaridis EMTM or the application process, please connect with our office.

The minimum requirements are:

  • A four-year honours undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university;
  • Several years of experience as a senior-level manager, director or executive in a technology-focused company or technology-adept organization;
  • People and/or project management experience.

Applicants must also meet the university’s minimum requirement for admission into a graduate program. If you do not meet these requirements, you may still be considered under exceptional circumstances. Please contact the Lazaridis EMTM office to discuss how to proceed with the application process.

Application Checklist

Step 1: Create an account and submit a completed online application. Once you have paid the non-refundable application fee, and Laurier has received your application, you'll receive an email from fgps@wlu.ca advising you to upload the additional required documentation to Laurier’s Online Viewing system. To apply for the Lazaridis EMTM, select Master of Science, Tech Management (EMTM).

Step 2: Upload all applicable supplementary materials found in the checklist below. Helpful information on uploading materials is available in the Graduate Admissions Toolkit.

An application for admission to our MSc in Management program must include:

  • The application summary available from the online application.
  • Transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work.
  • A completed statement of intent.
  • A résumé of your academic and work experience. Include a history of your publication and scholarly paper activity and any other information you feel will interest the admissions committee.
  • A sample of your scholarly writing (10-20 pages in length).1 This may be a paper written for a senior undergraduate course.
  • Completed reference forms.2 Two academic references are required. Note: Reference forms are electronically submitted to Laurier by the referee and do not need to be uploaded.
  • The GMAT may be required for applicants to the Lazaridis EMTM program.3

Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential to graduate studies at Laurier. Applicants whose language of instruction during their previous postsecondary education was not in English must submit evidence of proficiency in English. If applicable, results from accepted testing services must be uploaded to Laurier’s Online Viewing system.

1Applicants to the Lazaridis EMTM program may, in lieu of a scholarly writing sample, submit a project proposal or other sample of writing related to their employment.
2Applicants to the Lazaridis EMTM program are required to submit two academic letters of reference from referees familiar with the applicant’s academic potential, of which only one may be from the current employer. If you are unable to obtain an academic reference, please contact the Lazaridis EMTM office.
3If the GMAT is required, applicants must attain a minimum score of 650.
