Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Laurier’s Career Centre invites students to attend the annual Further Education Fair.

The fair will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Paul Martin Centre, Senate and Board Chamber and Concourse at the Waterloo campus, and on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Research Academic West Lobby and Wilkes House Gym at the Brantford campus.

The fair gives students the opportunity to meet with admissions representatives from over 75 institutions to learn about application information and prospective programs for further education following their undergraduate studies.

Representatives from the following areas will be available:

  • Faculties of Graduate Studies representing a variety of programs.
  • Ontario colleges offering graduate certificates in areas such as human resources, public relations, social services, geographic information systems, and marketing.
  • Health programs such as chiropractic, pharmacy, and psychology.
  • Faculties of Education.
  • International schools and educational consultants for students interested in studying abroad.
  • Law schools.
  • Laurier’s graduate and professional programs.

The 2014 graduate survey data shows that more than 40 per cent of Laurier grads pursue further education each year.

The fair has been running since the late 1990s and attracts hundreds of students each year.

A complete list of participating institutions at the Waterloo campus fair and the Brantford campus fair are available from the Career Centre event calendar. Questions regarding the fair can be directed to careercentre@wlu.ca.

The Career Development Centre assists students and alumni with exploring potential programs, understanding admission requirements and preparing effective applications. Log in to Navigator at wlu.ca/career to book an appointment.
