Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Partners4Employment invites graduating Laurier students and alumni to the 2015 Career Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The fair will be held at the Manulife Sportsplex at RIM Park. Admission is free for students and alumni with a student ID card. Registration is not required.

Partners4Employment is a collaborative effort by Laurier, the universities of Guelph and Waterloo, and Conestoga College and is designed to connect students and alumni with potential employers.

“Career fair offers an exceptional opportunity for students and alumni to meet face-to-face with employers and create that first impression,” said Jan Basso, director of Co-operative Education and Career Development at Laurier. “There is a wide range of industry types represented at the fair, with positions available in business management, finance, human resources, technical writing, sales and marketing, technology, and engineering.”

Career Fair focuses on full-time career opportunities for students following graduation as well as alumni. The largest of its kind in Canada, Career Fair provides opportunities to:

  • Investigate potential career paths.
  • Ask questions related to educational requirements, skills, and qualifications.
  • Industry growth and job requirements.
  • Salary expectations and corporate culture.

Representatives from more than 200 employers will be at the fair to answer questions. Students and alumni planning to attend may download the Career Fair app to help them best prepare for the event.

Students not in their graduating year are also able to attend to Career Fair to learn more about organizations, future opportunities, and work experiences that may better prepare them for their career prior to graduation.

Free bus transportation from Laurier’s Waterloo and Brantford campuses to the fair is available.

Additional details can be found on Partners4Employment’s website. Questions regarding the fair, including accommodations for students with disabilities, can be directed to careercentre@wlu.ca.
