Call for auditions: Fusion Beats 2026 to showcase Brantford’s multicultural talent

BRANTFORD — Wilfrid Laurier University’s Hub for Community Solutions, International Student Support and the City of Brantford are inviting performers to audition for Fusion Beats 2026. 

Now in its fourth year, Fusion Beats is an electrifying showcase of culturally diverse music and dance that will light up the stage at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, Nov. 24. The event draws hundreds of attendees from both campus and the broader community each year and has featured talented performers from Hindi rappers to high-energy K-pop dance crews. 

“Brantford is proud to be an inclusive city that supports the local arts,” said Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis. “Highlighting diverse talents and cultures is a key priority in the City of Brantford’s Inclusive City Strategy.” 

Organizers are seeking individual artists and groups representing a wide range of cultural traditions and performance styles. Auditions are open to students, community members and regional performers. 

Performers can register for an audition until Oct. 2. Auditions will be held in person on Monday, Oct. 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts, 88 Dalhousie St. in Brantford. 

“Every year, Fusion Beats brings together performers from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and artistic traditions,” said Christina Han, director of the Laurier Hub for Community Solutions. “We are excited to welcome new and returning artists who are ready to showcase their talent, connect with audiences and contribute to an unforgettable evening of music, dance and community celebration.”

Selected performers will share the spotlight with headline acts and take part in one of Brantford’s most dynamic cultural celebrations.
