WATERLOO and BRANTFORD — Wilfrid Laurier University will celebrate the accomplishments of about 1,780 students at fall convocation ceremonies on its Waterloo and Brantford campuses.
The Waterloo campus will host seven convocation ceremonies at the Lazaridis Hall Auditorium on Oct. 14, 15 and 16. A Brantford campus convocation ceremony will take place at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts on Oct. 20.
As of Oct. 6, 1,557 students qualified to graduate in Waterloo, while 225 qualified in Brantford. Laurier expects to confer 1,227 undergraduate degrees, 496 graduate degrees and 59 diplomas this month.
As part of fall convocation ceremonies, Laurier will bestow honorary degrees and the Order of Wilfrid Laurier University on three outstanding community leaders.
Order of Wilfrid Laurier University: Iris Catholique, Indigenous leader, conservation steward and advocate in the Northwest Territories.
Honorary Doctor of Laws: Ed Devlin, founder and managing partner of investment firm Devlin Capital.
Honorary Doctor of Laws: Jason Dunkerley, multi-medal winning Paralympian, author and advocate.
