WATERLOO - Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Empty Bowls event, taking place May 27 at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Lazaridis Hall.
Now in its 28th year, the annual event is sponsored by Bennett Wealth Management of RBC Dominion Securities Inc. and organized by Laurier’s Robert Langen Art Gallery and the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop. Empty Bowls raises funds in support of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
Tickets are $60 and include entry to either the 11:30 a.m. lunch or 5 p.m. dinner seating. They are available at thefoodbank.ca/emptybowls.
At the event, attendees select a unique bowl handcrafted and donated by local artisans from the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop. This keepsake bowl is then used to enjoy a variety of gourmet soups and bowl meals prepared by local chefs and restaurants.

For every ticket sold this year, The Food Bank can provide 120 healthy meals for the nearly 73,000 people in Waterloo region who rely on food assistance programs.
Founded in 1984, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region (The Food Bank) was the first organization of its kind in Ontario dedicated to providing emergency food. Forty-one years after its incorporation, The Food Bank continues to evolve to meet the community’s needs, ensuring that no one in Waterloo region experiences hunger.
