WATERLOO - Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Empty Bowls event, taking place on Wednesday, May 28 at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Lazaridis Hall.
Now in its 27th year, the annual event is sponsored by Bennett Wealth Management of RBC Dominion Securities Inc. and organized by Laurier’s Robert Langen Art Gallery and the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop. Empty Bowls raises funds in support of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
Tickets are $50 and include entry to the 11:30 a.m. lunch or 5 p.m. dinner seating. They are available at thefoodbank.ca/emptybowls.
At the event, attendees select a unique bowl, handcrafted and donated by local artisans from the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop. This keepsake bowl is used during the event to enjoy a variety of gourmet soups and bowl meals prepared by local chefs and restaurants.
Since 1998, Empty Bowls has raised awareness about hunger in Waterloo region and helped provide more than 1.5 million meals for people in need. For every ticket sold this year, The Food Bank can provide 100 healthy meals for the more than 73,600 individuals in Waterloo region who rely on food assistance programs.

About Empty Bowls
Empty Bowls is a movement started by artists and craftspeople in cities around the world to raise funds for charities that help feed the hungry in their communities. These events have raised millions of dollars globally to help fight hunger. In 1998, the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop held its first-ever Empty Bowls event to support The Food Bank. Since then, the event has raised over 1.5 million meals for people who need them.
