Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

The Music Fall Open House on Nov. 4 will feature a welcome concert and program overview in Maureen Forrester Recital Hall, academic sessions, open classes and tours. Prospective students are asked to register in advance for this open house.

“Open Houses are the perfect opportunity for prospective students and their families to really get a sense of what a university has to offer,” said Melissa Stephens, manager of marketing and communications for Recruitment and Admissions. “Our goal is to showcase our renowned academic programs, our sense of community and school spirit to provide our guests with a complete picture of the outstanding student experience that we are known for here at Laurier.”

At Laurier’s Waterloo campus, students and their families are invited to start their day at the headquarters booth in the Fred Nichols Campus Centre, where they can meet recruitment staff, get directions and ask questions. The Student Experience fair begins at 9:30 a.m. in the same location. Here, students can learn about the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union, campus clubs, getting involved on campus and the admissions process. There will be an Arts and Science information fair in the Science Building Atrium and a Business and Economics information fair in the Lazaridis Hall Atrium from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

At Laurier’s Brantford campus, students and parents are invited to start the day in the Research and Academic Centre (RAC) West Wing at 9 a.m. Information sessions will answer questions about Laurier and university life, provide resources and offer helpful tips. There will also be information sessions on programs, including Business Technology Management, Digital Media and Journalism, Game Design and Development, the joint Law Degree (University of Sussex, UK) and Arts Degree (Laurier), and more. An information fair will be held from noon to 2 p.m. in the Wilkes House Gym, where students can explore the variety of support services, student clubs and athletics and recreation options that are available to them. Guests may tour the Brantford campus residence buildings at their leisure between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
