Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

WATERLOO – The Lazaridis Executive Master’s in Technology Management (Lazaridis EMTM) within the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics is now accepting applicants for September 2016.

The Lazaridis EMTM provides world-class management education for up-and-coming leaders in the technology industry as part of the mandate of the recently created Lazaridis Institute for the Management of Technology Enterprises.

“Many senior-level technology managers have moved into leadership positions without all of the requisite knowledge to strategically manage their organization’s growth,” said Micheál Kelly, dean of the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. “The Lazaridis EMTM will enable them to contribute at the highest level to their current executive team, as well as advance to the C-suite themselves.”

Graduates of the program receive a Master of Science (MSc) in Management degree. The Lazaridis EMTM has the depth of a research-based MSc but is tailored for professionals with years of industry experience. It provides practical and relevant knowledge for managers in a technology-driven economy.

“The objective of the Lazaridis EMTM is to advance your leadership team's capability in a hyper-competitive and disruptive marketplace while also addressing the important issue of retention of your key resources,” says Hamid Noori, director of the Lazaridis EMTM.

To be eligible for the Lazaridis EMTM, candidates require extensive professional experience in a technology-based or technology-enabled company. The customized curriculum mixes practical applications with in-depth research. Learners will work on projects rooted in real-world businesses. The program is offered in an 11-month, alternating weekend format, enabling participants to balance personal and professional commitments.

The Lazaridis EMTM program will be housed in Lazaridis Hall, a $103-million state-of-the-art education facility on the Waterloo campus of Wilfrid Laurier University.
