Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

About the Calendar

The calendar of events gives you the details you need to find out what is happening at Laurier.

You are able to subscribe to the events, download them to your personal calendar or send yourself (or a friend) reminders. The calendar is Laurier’s tool to ensure you never miss an event.

View all events through the main Laurier calendar, or specific kinds of events featured on our sub-calendars:

Using the Calendar

Find Event Information and Toggle Display Views

Descriptive information about an event is available for most entries. The amount of information depends on the display view you are in.

Select one of the following in the "Display Format" menu on the top left:

  • Grid: This is the default calendar view. Click on event names to get a short summary, then "View More" for a full description and further details.
  • Summary: This view lists the events in chronological order with a short summary and event details. Click the title to get the full description, or "View Full Schedule" to see a list of all events in that series.
  • Lists: The Lists view displays the events in chronological order. View events by day, week or month and click the title for the full description and further details.

Search by Date, Keyword, Category or Location

You may search for events by clicking the “Search” function in the top right. You can search by:

  • date range
  • keywords
  • categories
  • locations

Date Range

You can select specific dates in the search function, or click into the "View By" drop-down in the centre and change the timeframe displayed, ranging up to the next 365 days.

Use the left and right arrows on either side of "View By" toggle to the next date range (e.g. the next or previous month).

Keyword

Enter keywords that correspond with the title of the events you're searching. If you enter more than one word at a time, use quotations to ensure they are read as a phrase rather than separate keywords.

Category and Location

The calendar's default view is to display all categories and locations.

Use the drop-down menus to choose a specific category/location or click "Select Multiple" under the drop-down to filter a select series. A pop-up box will appear on the right.

Events listed on the university calendar include all campuses. The locations field also allows you to filter your view to a specific campus.

Note: These selections will remain your default calendar view until you change them or select "Clear" in the search function.
