Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Fourth-Year Business Administration

Hi Future Golden Hawks!

My name is Roger Liao and I’m in my fourth year finishing the Bachelors of Business Administration Program with the Marketing Specialization. Throughout these past four years I can confidently say that Laurier has truly become a second home to me. From the tight-knit community feeling to the countless opportunities to get involved, Laurier offers something for everyone.

Come winter semester I will be travelling on exchange to the Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon, Portugal to finish my undergrad and I cannot be more excited. However, despite my excitement I am scared; scared of leaving behind my friends and family, scared of going to an unknown place, and scared of being on my own. Well, those were the exact same feelings that I had when deciding which university I wanted to attend four years ago. I have been in those shoes, and I can honestly say that choosing to attend Laurier was the best decision of my life.

Over the past four years, I have been lucky enough to be a part of a number of extracurricular activities and to develop amazing life-long relationships. From being vice-president of the on-campus club Laurier Against Childhood Cancer, to volunteering for Shinerama raising money for Cystic Fibrosis (Bling Bling!) to being a dodgeball intramural champion back in my first year, I have met so many people and created memories that I will never forget!

Since coming to Laurier I have grown both a student and as a person and I can honestly say that “It’s Great to be a Laurier Golden Hawk!” I cannot be more proud to represent the purple and gold and I hope to see you at Laurier!

Stay golden!
