Look into Laurier

Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Senior Campus Ambassador
Fourth-Year Music
Brooklin, ON

Hello! My name is Ahlyssa Mundy and I am a fourth-year Music major (specifically, classical voice). This is my second year as a Campus Ambassador and I am so excited to be able to share my Laurier experience with you! The other Ambassadors and I are here to inspire you about Laurier and what it has to offer. Hopefully, we will be seeing you as a fellow Golden Hawk soon!

When I decided to come to Laurier, it was right after I had my first tour. After walking around campus all I had to say was, "I feel at home here and this is where I want to be!” Coming into my final year at Laurier, I am positive that Laurier was the university that suited me best! It has a small campus, a tight-knit community between students and faculty and so many great opportunities to get involved! In my first year, I was a participant in the recreational dance program and since my second year I have been the advanced contemporary instructor for the program and couldn't be happier in such a unique leadership role.

Through the music faculty, I have been a part of FOMSA, which is the “student council” for the music faculty and with them I have been able to plan events and opportunities for other music students to get involved. To me, getting involved is the best thing to add your university career. It will always look great on resumes, but it gives you something to look forward to every week and that’s why it’s so important!

When deciding on your own university, remember that you know best. It can get overwhelming, but I promise that final decision, wherever you choose, will not disappoint!

I wish you luck on your search for the university that suits you best, and I can't wait to meet you on campus for a tour of Laurier!
