Join us at Laurier

Being a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Third-Year Bachelor of Business Administration
Port-Louis, Mauritius

Hi there!

I’m Nabiha and I am one of the international student ambassadors at Laurier for the year 2015/16. I am going to be completing my third year of the Bachelor of Business Administration this year and I am so excited to be part of this team. While I am not an international student, I did move to Canada at the age of 12 from Mauritius where I was born and raised. I am still very much connected to my Mauritian roots!

I know that the decision to move away from home and to a brand new country is a tough one, but let me tell you that it will be the best decision for you to choose not only Canada, but especially Laurier. I personally had a choice between Laurier and a few other schools. Choosing Laurier is a choice I have not once regretted. Laurier is an amazing combination of great academics, wonderful school spirit and a group of people like no other. You will feel at home and connected to all your peers. Everyone is so nice and helpful that it really makes the transition feel seamless. Laurier has given me countless opportunities to grow and evolve in the past 2 years in ways that I could not even previously fathom. You will not only learn from textbooks but also from the various experiences that you will go through. This school and community have shaped me into a well-rounded individual and I wish the same for you.

I hope you really consider Laurier for your future as it is a decision that you will not regret. Hope to see you around campus next year!
