Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Join us Wednesday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for our March Break Open House on the Brantford campus.

What You Can Do at Open House

Open House is one of the best times to visit campus! Our students, staff and faculty are all looking forward to meeting you and answering any questions you have about Laurier and what our Brantford campus has to offer.

  • Take a campus tour, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: A student volunteer will be happy to show you all the sights and sounds of campus. Tours will be departing from the Research and Academic Centre located at 150 Dalhousie St., with the last tour departing at 2 p.m.
  • Explore our residence buildings, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: The doors are open, and our current students will take the time to show you our apartment-style residence options at four residence locations.
  • Attend our Student Experience Fair, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Speak with representatives from Admissions, Financial Aid, Laurier International, Athletics, the Students' Union and more. This is a great opportunity to speak with staff and learn more about all that Laurier has to offer. The fair is located in the Research and Academic Centre.
  • Get involved in open house sessions: Faculty and students will help to explain our programs and answer all of your important questions. We're also offering presentations on residence life, admissions, financial aid and transitioning to university.

Get the Most Out of Your Day

  • Register in advance to get email reminders and updates before the event.
  • Review the schedule below and plan your day before you get to campus. Printed copies of the event schedule will be available day-of at the Welcome Desk.
  • Find out how to get here and where to park. Parking is free for our campus visitors during Open House at the Market Centre Parkade, located at 59 Icomm Drive.
  • You'll have the chance to explore the entire campus, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes and checking the weather before you leave.

Welcome Desk

We recommend that you start your day at our Welcome Desk, located in the Research and Academic Centre lobby. Here you can get your free parking voucher, an event schedule and campus map, and find staff who can help answer any questions you have about Open House.

Parking Information

We are pleased to provide free parking for our Brantford campus Open House guests!

Although parking is available on most downtown city streets for free, this is timed parking and the city will ticket cars that exceed the posted time limit. We highly recommend that you park in the Market Centre Parkade located at 59 Icomm Drive, adjacent to our Brantford campus. You can grab a complimentary parking voucher from our Welcome Desk located in the Research and Academic Centre, which can be given to the parking attendant when you leave the parkade.

Use our Custom Event Map

Our custom Google Map can help you get to the Market Centre Parkade and to our Welcome Desk. We encourage you to set your GPS to the Parkade indicated on the Event Parking map. There will also be volunteers and signage to direct you to and from the Parkade. Note: Our event parking map works best in the Google Maps mobile app. If on a web browser, Google Maps asks you to log in to view the map, try opening the link in a new browser to access the map.

Accessible Parking

If you have an accessible parking permit, we ask that you please contact Rachel Cavin (rcavin@wlu.ca) in advance of Open House so that we can do our best to accommodate you.

Campus Tours

Join one of our student volunteers for a guided tour of campus beginning at 9 a.m. Tours are available all day from the Research and Academic Centre and take approximately one hour. The last tour will depart at 2 p.m. During your tour, you will visit academic and faculty buildings and student recreational spaces throughout the downtown core of Branford.
