After an incredible 2025 post-season run that went to extra innings in Game 7 of the World Series, the Toronto Blue Jays return to Rogers Centre March 27 to kick off their 50th season in Major League Baseball.
With fan favourites including George Springer, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Trey Yesavage and Ernie Clement set to shine on the field, Laurier alumni are making their mark behind the scenes. From driving social media strategy to leading ticket sales and developing future talent, Aiden Zabukovec (BKin ’23), Nikki Aitcheson-Huehn (BSc ’17, MSc ’19), Alykhan Ravjiani (BBA ’14), Devin McElroy (BA ’09) and Ashley Stephenson (BA ’05) are helping power the Toronto Blue Jays forward.
Social Media Creative Specialist, Toronto Blue Jays
Aiden Zabukovec knows how to capture big moments in Canadian sports.
As a student, Zabukovec worked as a creative content coordinator and videographer with the Laurier Athletics marketing and communications team. His skills have taken him from the sidelines of major Golden Hawks milestones, including the 2024 Vanier Cup, to the Blue Jays’ 2025 return to the Fall Classic after a 32-year wait.
Zabukovec joined the Blue Jays organization in March 2025 as a social media creative specialist, designing graphics and editing video content for distribution across the franchise’s online platforms.
Biomechanist and Vision Research Specialist, Toronto Blue Jays
Nikki Aitcheson-Huehn has built her career at the intersection of biomechanics and high‑performance sport. After earning Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Kinesiology at Laurier, she completed a PhD in Human Movement Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, working closely with Division I basketball, football and hockey athletes. These experiences drove Aitcheson-Huehn’s passion to pursue a career working with high-performance athletes.
In May 2023, Aitcheson-Huehn joined the Toronto Blue Jays as a biomechanics intern and was promoted to biomechanist in January 2025. In her role, she works with Blue Jays’ players, collecting and analyzing sports science data to support their development. Her expertise in visual‑motor performance also informs vision‑training initiatives that strengthen player readiness and on‑field execution.
Senior Manager, Social Media and Real-Time Content, Toronto Blue Jays
Alykhan Khamisa Ravjiani (BBA ’14) knows how to spark excitement online. As senior manager of social media and real-time content for the Toronto Blue Jays, he captures everything from game-day highlights to behind-the-scenes moments and exclusive player interviews, bringing fans closer to the action.
Since joining the Jays in 2016, Ravjiani has played a key role in keeping fans engaged, especially during the 2020 season, which was impacted by COVID-19. His career also includes communications roles with Major League Baseball, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, and the NHL.
Director of Ticket Sales and Business Development, Toronto Blue Jays
Devin McElroy (BA ’09) is no stranger to exciting moments in Toronto sports history. Since graduating from Laurier Brantford in 2009, McElroy has worked for each of the city’s professional sports teams and celebrated victories, including Toronto FC’s MLS Cup win in 2017 and the Toronto Raptors’ NBA Championship in 2019.
In 2022, McElroy joined the Toronto Blue Jays organization in premium ticket sales, contributing ideas to re-imagined spaces at the Rogers Centre designed to provide fans an unforgettable experience.
Position Coach, Dunedin Blue Jays, Toronto Blue Jays’ Single-A Affiliate
Ashley Stephenson (BA ’05) is breaking barriers in professional baseball.
Currently, she is the only female coach within the Blue Jays organization. Stephenson spent the 2025 season as a position coach with the Dunedin Blue Jays, the club’s Single-A affiliate. The Toronto Blue Jays’ rookie pitching sensation Trey Yesavage started the 2025 season with Dunedin before making his Major League Baseball debut on Sept. 15. Stephenson also coached with the Jays’ High-A affiliate, the Vancouver Canadians, helping lead the team to a Northwest League Championship in 2023.
A standout on the Canadian women’s national baseball team from 2004 to 2018, Stephenson was twice named team MVP and earned the 2011 Jimmy Rattlesnake Award for outstanding ability and sportsmanship, which has since been renamed in her honour. In June 2024, Stephenson became the first woman to be inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
The 2026 season marks the Toronto Blue Jays’ 50th year in Major League Baseball, with fans hoping for another riveting run to the World Series and a chance to reclaim baseball’s top title.
