Wilfrid Laurier University has been notified that one student living in Clara Conrad Hall residence on the Waterloo campus has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The identity of the individual is protected by privacy legislation and will not be shared. The individual is in self-isolation.
This confirmed case is being managed by public health. Laurier is taking direction from public health and will take further actions and provide further updates as necessary.
The Laurier community can rest assured the university has in place rigorous protocols for sanitizing and cleaning campus areas since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, all members of the Laurier community are reminded to follow public health guidelines and on-campus safety protocols to protect themselves and others from the spread of the virus.
Wilfrid Laurier University’s priority is the safety of students, staff and faculty. The university has taken significant steps to do our part in the national and global effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Laurier will provide regular updates regarding any cases that have the potential to affect the health and safety of our community.
