Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Inspiring lives is an integral part of who we are and what we do at Laurier. Learning doesn’t stop when you finish your degree, retire from the working world, or reach your personal goals. We continue to learn as life goes on, and we're proud to offer a number of learning opportunities for your personal enrichment.

Laurier Association for Lifelong Learning

The Laurier Association for Lifelong Learning (LALL) offers courses designed to challenge and engage the minds of inquiring adult learners. Taught by academic and community experts, LALL courses provide the opportunity to pursue personal interest and self-education without having to worry about prerequisites, assignments or exams. With a registration fee of only $70 per course, LALL courses are both stimulating and affordable.

Auditing Regular Academic Courses

Would you like to take a class at Laurier, but not have to complete assignments or write exams? If this sounds like something you would like to try, you can self-identify as an audit student. Audit students don’t write the final examination and don’t receive a course grade or course credit. You may participate in some classroom activities; your participation level is at the discretion of the course instructor.

You still have to pay tuition when you audit, but the fee is normally half the regular course fee, with a few exceptions where full course fees are applied.

Half of a non-business course fee is approximately $345 plus incidental fees, and half a business course fee is approximately $465 plus incidental fees. Please note course fees are subject to change and the preceding figures are estimations only. Fees are not refundable.

Want to get started as an audit student? Contact our Recruitment and Admissions team at for application procedures and deadlines.

Aged 60 or Better?

It pays to be the older student in the classroom at Laurier. As part of Laurier’s senior citizens policy, students aged 60 and older by the first day of classes are exempt from tuition for all courses. However, you are responsible for payment of all online learning charges and incidental/miscellaneous fees, where applicable.

Please note the Martin Luther University College is exempted from this policy. If you wish to participate in a WLS course, you will charged half the regular course fee.

If you have questions about Laurier’s senior citizens policy or related incidental fees, contact our Recruitment and Admissions team at
