Fred Nichols Campus Centre (FNCC) Temporary Closure – Spring/Summer 2026

This notice is a reminder that the Fred Nichols Campus Centre (FNCC) will be closed for operations during the spring and summer of 2026 to accommodate the Air Handling Unit (AHU) Replacement Project. 

Construction is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2026, and is expected to be completed by mid August 2026. 

Building Access and Operations 

• During this period, there will be no cooling or air circulation within the building. 
• A temporary relocation plan has been implemented for all impacted FNCC occupants. 
• Users requiring brief or temporary access to the building during construction must coordinate access in advance with the on‑site contractor, or with Special Constable Service (SCS) after hours. 
• Contact information for the on‑site contractor, along with all required safety precautions, will be posted at the building entrances. 

Turret Event Space Access 

Please note that the north elevator located at the FNCC main entrance will remain operational to allow access to the Turret Event Space (Room 305) on the third floor. This space will remain operational throughout the construction period, as it is served by a separate AHU. 

However, occupants should expect construction noise due to ongoing work in the mechanical room behind the Turret and the AHU replacement activities.
