Fire Alarm Testing (Waterloo) - Week of May 19 to May 22

Please be advised that the University's annual fire alarm inspections will be taking place in the following buildings:

• MacDonald House Residence – Tuesday, May 19th
• Dr. Alvin Woods Building – Tuesday, May 19th
• Frank Peters Building – Wednesday, May 20th
• Schlegel Building – Wednesday, May 20th
• Bricker Residence – Thursday, May 21st and Friday, May 22nd

This work will require the verification of devices (detectors, fire extinguishers, pull stations, emergency lighting, exit signage, etc.) in individual offices, classrooms, and any other location in which these may be installed.

In academic/administrative locations, testing of signalling devices (bells, horns, sirens, strobes) will be performed before 8:00am on the days noted. In residence locations, testing of signalling devices will be conducted during the day. During this time, flashing of strobe lights will occur in buildings where installed. Personnel from Richardson Fire Systems to be performing all verification activities with support from Laurier's Facilities and Asset Management department. No action is required unless otherwise indicated by the on-site staff.
